Define Gross Motor Skills

A

Use of bigger muscles and body parts, like arms and legs. For example a student can use sidewalk chalk or washable paint on the sidewalk or concrete to promote the using of the legs as students squat and move around.

Define Fine Motor Skills

A

The use of smaller muscles and body parts, like fingers and toes, and can be promoted with the same sidewalk chalk activity but instead of legs you are using muscles such as your hands, wrists, and fingers to control the chalk and create art.
