0001 - Demonstrate knowledge of motor learning concepts such as open and closed skills, readiness, observational learning, transfer of learning, and motor task analysis. Flashcards
What are the principles of motor learning?
How people learn to use their muscle groups to develop skills and perform at ever-increasing levels of difficulty.
What are the principles that are involved in the principles of motor learning
Readiness, observational learning, practice, retention, feedback, motor-task analysis, and skill transfer
Define Readiness
Refers to the children’s developmental capcity to master a new concept or skill.
Define Observational Learning
A process where someone learns by watching and then modeling the behavior of other people.
Define Retention
Remembering how to execute a skill properly. The body retain the capacity to perform a physical skill after ti has performed it properly many times.
Define Feedback
Commentary on how they are performing the skill.
Define Motor-Task Analysis
A close, in-depth examination of all of the components of a physical skill. To complete this close, in-depth examination, you must pay close attention to, and then describe, what they are doing with each muscle group as they practice a skill.
Define Skill Transfer
The ability to perform the same skill in different context. For example, a teacher may want the student to masters the long jump in isolation first, but then he wants them to be able to jump in the middle of a basketball game, or while doing dance.
