Zoo lab 7 Flashcards
From the front to the back of the ventral brain
Olfactory bulb with nerves coming off of them extending ventrally (sensory, smell)
Olfactory tract leading laterally from the olfactory bulb
Optic nerves branching off of the centered optic chiasma (sensory, vision)
Optic chiasma branching into two optic nerves
Oculomotor nerves on lateral opposite sides (motor to eye)
Pituitary gland ventral
Pons
Trigeminal nerve extending anterior and from the pons (motor: chewing and swallowing; sensory: pain, touch, temp from face to brain)
Medulla
Sagittal brain section from anterior-> posterior
Cerebrum - conscious motor control, memory, emotions, thought
corpus callosum- cavitates the midbrain and connects the left and right hemispheres from the cerebrum
cerebral aqueduct - below the corpora quadragemina
Fourth ventricle - superior to the medulla, looks like a small cave
Two nerves to find
Vagus nerve (heart, lungs, abdominal viscera)
Brachial plexus (spinal nerves of the front leg)
What sits between the cerebrum and cerebellum
Corpora quadragemina - oculomotor reflexes and auditory sensory input relay
