Yang sheng: cultivate (yang) / nourishing / nurturing (way to nourish life to prevent disease and maintain good health and longevity).

- Living in accordance with our Stage in Life
- Maintaining the strength of Yáng Qì
- Exercising appropriately
- Eating appropriately
- Appropriate life style

What are the 3 factors that influence health and longevity?
- Heredity - cannot be altered
- Environment
- Life-style and behavior - directly under our control
What is the main concept of yang sheng?
Living in harmony with the seasons, eating with the seasons, moving with the seasons, allowing yourself to nourish during the season which is dominant.
How does the Zang Fu horary clock influence health?
Based on Yin Yang and Zang Fu theory.
Can help you to identify patterns that are relevant during the day. E.g. waking up at a certain time regularly.
Why is Yang Qi important?
Yang qi is health.
Not squandering, conserving energy, minimising the loss of it.
How is health enhancement understood in Western Medicine vs TCM?
Western Medicine: Values physical exercise, medication, quick fixes.
TCM: holistic based practices, living within harmony with the seasons and cycles of nature, applying your constitution to health practices.
