Writing Linear Funtions Flashcards
What is Slope-Intercept Form?
An equation type written as y=mx+b
How do you calculate Slope?
(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
What is Y-Intercept?
The point where the line cuts through the y-axis.
What is X-Intercept?
The point where the line cuts through the x-axis.
How do you find the Slope with two points?
You use the Slope Calculation Formula or you take the values from the points to find the differences and find the rise/run.
What is Point-Slope Form?
An equation written as y-y1=m(x-x1)
What is the easiest way to tell if two Linear Functions are parallel?
You see if they have the same slope.
What is the difference between the slopes of Perpendicular Lines?
One slope is the opposite reciprocal of the other.
