What is the role of a clerk of works?

A

A clerk of works inspects the workmanship, quality and safety of the work on a site and reports back to CA or client.

A

A CA ensures the contract is followed/administered and manages the day to day running of the contract

A

5) What tests on concrete can you carry out on site?

A

Slump test to determine workability of concrete (using a cone you fill it up and lift it vertically and using a rod to measure the slump)

If the slump retains its strenth it’s cohesive. (zero slump is good for road construction)
Cubes or cylinders can be taken for a compressive strength test
