What is your Bible IQ? Flashcards
Read me first (Introduction)
Remember that Kevin Spacy movie (The usual suspects)?
When he made up his testimony from words and names he found in the room then he made up a story to fit that timeline.
Well, that is exactly how the Bible was written. The people, the miracles and stories were all based on things that were exposed to the writers . Legends, myths, superstitions and especially previous history from other nations’ ancient religions.
For example who was the world’s first savior?
Hercules
Who walked on water before Jesus?
1. Buddha 2. Osiris 3. Horus
Who is the God that was a virgin birth and born on December 25th?
All these Gods were virgin birth way before Jesus and born on December 25th.
- Chrishna
- Mithra
- Buddha
- Beddou
- Quetzalcoatl
- Hercules
- Attis
- Tarmmuz
- Osiris
- Augustus
- Adonis
- Dionysus
- Krishna
- Romulus
- Zoroaster
Timelines: Why are Bible timelines like 40 days and 40 nights?
Days that were in stories were from the time it took the Sun to move from one constellation to another constellation. Example :
It rained 40 days and 40 nights.
Time from Jesus’ resurrection until he went to heaven. 40 days . Same time Sun moved from one constellation to another. constellation.
Of course this timeline is fictional but ancient scribes used this because they needed a supernatural timeline to use in the Bible. They were into Astrology bigtime in those days.
If you background checked all the popular Bible sayings, all the miracles, all the events (like Noah’s flood) you will discover that most, if not all are copied from a previous popular religion.
The Bible isn’t a Holy Book. In fact it isn’t a book at all. It is a Library of books. Biblio is a collection. The Bible, named after Biblio, is a collection of mythical tales, cut and pasted from ancient religions, superstitions and cherished beliefs.
When was the New Testament written?
The New Testament came out in the 5th century, around 400 CE. This was a good FOUR CENTURIES after the lifetime of Jesus on Earth.
When did the Gospels come out?
Mark 60-70CE Jesus is a Rabbi and not divine. God’s Kingdom is now on EARTH, not in heaven.
Matt. and Luke 85-90CE Again, Jesus is a Rabbi and not divine. God’s kingdom on Earth, not in heaven.
John 90-100 PLAN “B” Suddenly Jesus is divine. People now go to heaven or hell at death.
Who wrote the gospels and in what language were they written?
In the first place there were hundreds of gospels not just four. There were many tribes of people, each having their own gospel versions. The Catholic church burned all the gospels they could find and only released the gospels we have today to all the world.
Like the New Testament, the gospels were written in Koine Greek(common Greek)
Nobody knows who wrote the gospels. Jesus and his disciples spoke Aramaic and Hebrew, not Greek.
Neither Jesus or his disciples could read or write, especially Greek. In this time period children did not go to school. 99% of people living in this geographical location and timeline were illiterate. This included most Kings!
There were no copyright laws then so people simply used a famous person’s name to gain more believers. This is called Pseudepigrapha.
How many of the 27 New Testament books are written by who claims to have written them?
Only 8 of the 27 books were written by who traditionally claims to have written them. Ref: Jesus Interrupted”
Is the Bible a Holy book?
Northrope Frye has 28 honorary degrees and is considered the top literary critic of the 20th century.
He wrote an analysis of the Bible called “The Great Code”. To sum up 200 plus pages of his book: The Bible is poetry, not history. It is like Homer’s Iliad and the Odyssey.
The Bible is metaphoric, not actual. It’s like Moby Dick.
It is full of allegories, Midrash and Metonymies.
“Clearly the Bible is a violently partisan book: as with any other form of propaganda, what is true is what the writer thinks ought to be true.” P.40
“Whenever we move from the obvious legendary to the possibly historical, we never cross a clear boundary line. That is, the sense of historical fact as such is simply not delimited in the Bible, anywhere.” P.40.
“And just as the historical books of the Old Testament are not history, so the Gospels are not biography.” P.41.
“Bible is a mosaic of folktales and legends.” P.206.
Jesus never told the people anything that wasn’t already common knowledge. WHY?
Why did Jesus say to go all over the world to spread the good news, but he never even mentions the other side of the planet, ie the new world!
Why didn’t he tell the people useful information about germs, bacteria, plagues and cholera?
Why didn’t he tell them that there is no such thing as a witch? This would have stopped the 40,000-60,000 murders of people being a witch!
Why did Jesus say demons caused sickness and mental Illness instead of germs, bacteria and mental illness being a phychological problem? Now we have priest trying exorcisms to cast out demons and heal people!
The answer is because he wasn’t divine and he didn’t know anymore than common people knew. Many scholars think Jesus never existed and is a made up character (Backfilled) into the Bible. All his attributes were said and done before in ancient religious history.
Just look at Roman history. Everything important was documented and recorded in Roman history. Even speeches by Roman rulers were recorded in Roman history.
So why is there no mention at all of Jesus in Roman history?
He allegedly Multiplied bread and fish to feed 5,000 people on the sermon on the mount.
He heals and raised people from the dead, yet not a mention in Roman history.
He walks on the water, calms the storm.
He is crucified then raises himself from the dead then walks the countryside for forty days. Yet not a word in Roman history.
The big earthquakes on his death. The 500 dead people come out of their graves and walk around for 40 days yet none of this is newsworthy to the Roman historians?
Many historians say there is no Roman history because none of the above really happened.
It was all fiction, backfilled into the Bible generations after the timeline.
Look at the gospels coming out up to 100 years after the Bible timeline. Then look at the New Testament not coming out to the public until a good 400 years after the fact.
Historians today say there is no evidence at all that Jesus even existed. The New Testament was edited by the Catholic/Christian church and wrote what they wanted people to believe.
