A
- Sudden Onset
- Blurred central vision
- Positive scotoma
- Metamorphopsia
- Painless

What are the signs of Wet AMD?
A
- CNV (dirty green/grey colour)
- PED
- Haemorrhages
- Hard exudates
- End Stage: Disciform scarring

How does WET AMD occur?
A
- The accumulation of drusen causes breaks in Bruch’s membrane.
- The drusen presence promotes ischaemia/hypoxia of RPE.
- This triggers release of VEGF-> new vessel growth

What is the differential diagnosis of WET AMD?
A
- Diabetic Maculopathy
- CSCR
- High myopia

What is the management/treatment for WET AMD?
A
- Urgent referral
Anti VEGF treatments (Lucentis)
Laser photocoagulation
