= any bacterial infection of the cornea (e.g. staphylococcus, pseudomonas)

- Unilateral
- Acute
- Pain
- Redness
- Photophobia
- Mucopurulent discharge
- Decrease in Va

What are the signs of bacterial keratitis?
A
- Single lesion (mid-periphery/central)
- Ulceration
- Stromal Oedema
- Chemosis (irritation)

What is the referral for bacterial keratitis?
A
EMERGENCY SAME DAY

What is the management/treatment for bacterial keratitis?
A
- Corneal scrape.
- Cyclopegia
- Topical antibiotics (dual therapy)
- Topical steroids (reduces inflammation)
