= infection of the cornea due to yeasts and filamentous fungi

What are symptoms displayed for fungal keratitis?
A
- Gradual onset
- Pain
- Grittiness
- Photophobia
- Blurred Vision
- Mucopurulent discharge

What are signs of fungal keratitis for candida and filamentous?
A
Candida = Yellow/white infiltrate, ulceration, pus
Filamentous = Grey/White infiltrate, indistinct margins, ring shaped infiltrates

What is the referral for fungal keratitis?
A
EMERGENCY SAME DAY

What is the management/treatment for fungal keratitis?
A
- Corneal scrape with sterile swap
- Cyclopegia
- Antifungal agents (For candida = amphotericin, For filamentous = Netamycin)
- Reduce topical steroids
