What is conjunctival melanoma?
A
= Cancer of melanocytes of the conjunctiva (Can arise from pre-existing neavus, primary acquired melanosis)

Presentation of conjunctival melanocytes?
A
- Early 50’s
- Caucasian
- Unilateral
- Aggressive

What are the two appearances of conjunctrival melanoma?
A
- Raised black/grey nodule with dilated feeder vessels
OR - Amelenotic Lesion: pink/flesh colour, smooth (may extend to limbus, immobile, elevation)

What is the management/treatment?
A
EMERGENCY SAME DAY REFERRAL TO OP
Treatment = surgical enucleation as it can spread to brain lungs or liver.
