What is the present continuous tense in Spanish?
A tense used to describe actions happening right now, formed with estar + gerund (e.g., estoy hablando - “I am speaking”).
How do you form the gerund for regular -ar verbs?
Drop the -ar ending and add -ando (e.g., hablar → hablando).
How do you form the gerund for regular -er and -ir verbs?
Drop the -er or -ir ending and add -iendo (e.g., comer → comiendo, vivir → viviendo).
How do you conjugate estar for use with the present continuous?
Yo - estoy, Tú - estás, Él/Ella/Ud. - está, Nosotros - estamos, Vosotros - estáis, Ellos/Ellas/Uds. - están
