Graphic: Provide a consistent visual pattern during a series of very quick edits.

Rhythmic: starts relatively long take but then gets shorter
Temporal; dialogue overlaps throughout the sequence enhances the illusion of time.

Establishing Shot
shot stands far back for sense of space and so we can see the full scene.

Imaginary like runs between two characters that determines where a camera can be placed so that when editing happens you don’t end up with continuity editing.
