Manuscript -readers from paper , vertebrate
ex. news anchor

Memorized- speech carefully written committed from memory
ex. politicians , wedding toast
disadvantage- scripted feel, robotic, lower levels of creditability

prisoner of the text
lack of eye contact

tip- write out the way you talk
- practice

Impromptu- a speech with low to no preparation, on the fly speaking
ex. called on in class,
advantage - genuine , heartfelt , low to no time to get nervous

tip- pause and give thought
- try to structure remarks intro body, conclusion

Extemporaneous- a speech that is written out word for word, carefully prepared , but delivered naturally, conversationally, not recited from memory
advantage- middle ground of other two modes
more engaging, higher likability, adaptable
