Focus on one specific thing and pause to allow for interpretation and response
Be clear and concise response

Ask specific questions to generate feedback
Use neutral or objective language “From your point of view” and “Would you share your perspective”
Pause to interpret and respond to what was communicated
Be open and curious
Why Feedback in a Coaching Session?
- Creates stronger rapport between Coach and Client
- Allows for check-in to ensure Client needs are met
- Provides an opportunity for growth
- Facilitates in the planning of future sessions
- Creates space for reflection from both Coach and Client
Questions to use when asking for Feedback in a Coaching Session
• Ask for feedback in the form of a statement • “Feedback from you please” • Give direct and specific questions to illicit quality feedback • “What did that feel like for you?” • “From your point of view, what did you like?” • “From your perspective, what would you improve?”
5 phases to Feedback
Output, Input, Interpret, Respond, Follow up
