• Help the client to create a wellness vision
• Help the client to develop a statement encompassing all of these qualities

  • Many wellness coaches mistake action steps for goals. Make sure you start with a big picture vision and choose areas of focus BEFORE creating goals and action steps.
  • Choose up to 3-4 areas to work on at a time
  • Notice the client’s energy
  • Consider healthcare provider’s recommendation
  • Consider client’s readiness to change
  • Watch for red flags & refer when appropriate
  • Depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, substance abuse, etc

• Goals ALWAYS come from the client; never imposed by the coach
• For each focus area, create and refine short, medium & long-term goals
• Make them SMART!
• Specific

creating goals
• Create weekly action steps that are in support of goals
and overall vision
