Mixed in a way in catholic beliefs. This is the practice that emerged in Mexico. Nowadays is practiced in other Spanish-speaking countries. This is a way to memorialize and celebrate their ancestors. They use food or photos of their past loved ones to commemorate the deceased of their loved ones in a catholic way.
