The left painting is the massacre. The Spaniards are shown on a larger scale where the small ones are the victims.
The painting on the right is the conquest of Mexico. Each section of the screen has a scenario that depicts multiple events. The speaks for the object’s scale (entire room screen versus a page).
The left paintings set a massacre that happened in an Aztec temple attacking indigenous people. The setting in the right painting is located in the city of Tenolichitlon. During the conquest, it was an island city. Moctexuma palace is the setting where he is standing on the balcony on the left side.
