Partial bath/assist bath
Help patient with areas that may be difficult to reach/cleanse only the areas that may cause odor or discomfort
Complete bed bath
Wash the patient’s entire body without assistance from the patient. Head to toe from the cleanest area to the most soiled.
Perineal care
Area between the anus and bulbs in a female or the anus&scrotum in a male that needs cleansed to decrease bacterial growth, promote comfort, prevent odor, sin excoriation & infection
Periodontal disease (pyorrhea)
Major cause of tooth loss in adults 35+; inflammation characterized by bleeding and receding gums and destruction of the surrounding bone structure
Halitosis
Bad breath; results from poor oral hygiene, eating certain foods, tobacco use, dental carries, infections, or even systematic diseases, such as uncontrolled diabetes or liver disease

Activities involved in maintaining personal cleanliness &grooming

Asepsis
The process of decreasing the transmission of infection.

Of or in a state of deep unconsciousness for a prolonged or indefinite period, especially as a result of severe injury or illness.
