How do you assess org. readiness for change (3)?
Do three things; 1: Look at/assess change history (positive-leverage, negative-remedy), 2: do a stress assessment (micro), 3: assess the C.M. leadership competencies (macro). NOTE, considering feedback is not part of org. readiness.
What is Step #3 of the principles?
Develop and implement E.B. change interventions

Solution identification (EBM), Target AMO, Mutually reinforce changes (e.g. Align HR-systems)
What is Step #4 of the principles?
Develop effective change leadership
What happens in Step #4 develop leadership of the principles?
Complimentary roles (e.g. listen to employees/make diagnosis). Agents/role models that can create a psych. safe environment.
What is Step #5 of the principles?
Develop and communicate a change vision

Communicate both 1: Content (vision, legit. message, NOT urgency) and 2: Process (quality)

Leverage/work w/ social networks and higher level efforts

Employees w/ many nodes (connections) are effective change ambassadors. and Shared goals and beliefs are important (target team)
What is Step #7 of the principles?
Use enabling practices to support implementation
What happens in Step #7 enabling practices of the principles?
(overlap 6-7) Participation, empowerment, developing employees skills/knowledge (learning requires safe environment). Goal setting and focus on competencies. ALSO; developing and promoting change-related knowledge and ability will increase self-efficacy (“yes I can”)
