A

A

Deciding the nature of the problem. Is it linked to another problem. What is the problem and what is the severity

What is triage

A

Based on the known information it is decided where, and how often the patients needs treatment. E.g is someone uses a small amount of weed they will get community interventions but someone with a meth addiction might get regular private help

A

Assess the willingness of the patient to get help, as well as what type of help they will receive

What is the structure of assessment

A

Should take the form of a semi structured interview were you and your client compile a narrative history. They should not all about filling out questionnaires and scales. These are only tools for diagnosis not the whole diagnosis. All information is confidential

What is a semi structured interview

A

An interview where there are not set questions or orders of questions but rather just a number of aspects you want to cover in order to build and understanding of the person and the perspective they have

Why are clients and their surrounding support system interveiwed

A

To see how the client is on there own, someone close to the clients who is on the outside is valuable bc they provide the therapist worth an outside looking in perspective as well as gaining complimentary information. It also allows the therapist to see how the people interact and how this could be contributing to the issue
