10
Q

How to get a proper fitting

A

Start at the pelvis and use the3 point method. The 3 point method is using the 3 points of trunk control

Ex: The pt leans R. So we will put 2 points of support to the R and 1point on the L

13
Q

What do we do if they have a fixed Posterior pelvic tilt and use a WC?

A

ACCOMODATE.
-Open seat to back angle to match pelvic angle
-Decrease pressure tilt in space.
-Accommodate pelvis

16
Q

What do we do if they have fixed windswept legs and use a WC?

A

Accomodate
-Foot plate that is fit to both feet.
-Contact of back and seat with custom cushion to hold position.
-Measure true point seat width

17
Q

How do we test for kyphosis?

A

Excessively posterior convex curve which is common in the thoracic. “Round back”

18
Q

What do we do if they have flexible kyphosis and use a WC?

A

Anterior chest/shoulder support to the mid thoracic- support tilt in space

19
Q

What do we do if they have fixed kyphosis and use a WC?

A

Open back seating, tilt frame, and a custom molded back

20
Q

How do we know if a pt has scoliosis?

A

Their back will be shaped like an S or a C

21
Q

How do we treat a flexible scoliosis on a WC?

A

Lateral trunk support
-3 point pad system…. 1 pad apex of convex, and 2 pads on top/bottom on concave aspect, with anterior trunk support

22
Q

How do we accomodate a fixed scoliosis with WC?

A

Custom back
Lateral tilt support under seat to fix head position
