Posterior buttock to popliteal space (-2 inches)
How to measure hip width?
Width across lap of patient (widest part) (+2 inches)
How to measure chest width?
Distance between R and L axila
How to measure shoulder width?
Widest part across both shoulders

How to measure popliteal fossa to heel?
Measure length of lower leg
How to get a proper fitting
Start at the pelvis and use the3 point method. The 3 point method is using the 3 points of trunk control
Ex: The pt leans R. So we will put 2 points of support to the R and 1point on the L
How do we test for Posterior pelvic tilt in a WC?
Roll forward and backward.
-Lordotic curve: back extended and LE’s ABD
If they have a flexible posterior pelvic tilt what do we do and use a WC?
FIX IT
-Pommel: an attachment used to separate the knee and lumbar support.
-Anterior/posterior trunk supports
What do we do if they have a fixed Posterior pelvic tilt and use a WC?
ACCOMODATE.
-Open seat to back angle to match pelvic angle
-Decrease pressure tilt in space.
-Accommodate pelvis
How do we test for windswept legs?
Hip ABD and ER, genu virus at knee and other knee/hip are ADD and IR- genu vagus
What do we do if they have flexible windswept legs and use a WC?
Treat with proper width of the seat. Not too high and contoured seat pommel. Also add lateral thigh support and foot straps.
