ANYTHING YOU DONT WANT TO TOUCH ESPECIALLY BLOOD AND POOPOO
- MRSA, VISA, VRE, CDIFF, Hepatitis, Blood born pathogens, even a cut
What PPE is used with airborne precautions?
“N95 Airplane”
N95 mask
When do we use airborne precautions?
“Watch TB (TV) on the n95 airplane”
-TB, meAsles, SARS
Measles has an “A” for “A”irborne
-If there is only one N95 mask the patient will get it if they have to leave their room.They will also be in a negative pressure room so no air goes out.
What PPE do we use for Droplet precautions?
Regular mask
When are droplet precautions indicated?
Mainly for coughing.
-Mumps, strep, pneumonia, flu
What PPE is used for airborne and contact precautions?
N95, gown, gloves
When are airborne + contact precautions indicated?
All the pox
