Q

Describe the formation of waterfall

A
  1. The soft rock erodes more quickly, undercutting the hard rock.
  2. Over the time, water erode the soft rock and form a plunge pool by abrasion and hydraulic action.
  3. The hard rock is left overhanging and eventually collapses because it isn’t supported.
  4. The fallen rock crashed into the plunge pool and caused more erosion.
  5. Over the time, the process repeated and the waterfall retreats upstream.
  6. A gorge is formed as waterfall retreats.
