Mechanism of action - Warfarin
A
- It has an Anticoagulatn action
- Prevents production of Prothrombin in the Liver
- Prolongs Clotting Time
- Damages the Capillaries

Clinical Symptoms - Warfarin
A
Cats and Dogs:
* Internal bleeding = blood may be seen in:
-Vomit
-Diarrhoea
-Urine
Other symptoms of Animals
* Bleeding from Natural openings
* Anemia
* Weak/Fast pulse
* Respiratory difficulty
* Collapse => Death (5-7 days)
- Hematomata (anywhere on the body)
- Paralysis
- Brain Hemorrhages => Sudden Death

Treatment - Warfarin
A
- Antidote: Vitamin K or K1
- Blood transfusion

- TLC - Thin layer chromatography
-Result: Blue stain on Yellow background
