A
  • It has an Anticoagulatn action
  • Prevents production of Prothrombin in the Liver
  • Prolongs Clotting Time
  • Damages the Capillaries

Clinical Symptoms - Warfarin

A

Cats and Dogs:
* Internal bleeding = blood may be seen in:
-Vomit
-Diarrhoea
-Urine

Other symptoms of Animals
* Bleeding from Natural openings
* Anemia
* Weak/Fast pulse
* Respiratory difficulty
* Collapse => Death (5-7 days)

  • Hematomata (anywhere on the body)
  • Paralysis
  • Brain Hemorrhages => Sudden Death

  • Antidote: Vitamin K or K1
  • Blood transfusion
