A
- Toxin produced by Aspergillus Flavus and Aspergillus Parasiticus
-Aspergillus is a Genus of Mold found on Peanuts, Soybeans, Corn, Cereals
-Found either in Field or Storage (High moisture and temperature)

Mechanism of Action - Alfatoxins
A
- Toxic response and diesease in Mammals and Poultry varies in relation to:
-Species
-Sex
-Age
-Nutritional status
-Duration of ingestion
-Level of Alfatoxins - Liver is the Principal Organ affected:
-High doses = Hepatocellular Necrosis
-Prolonged Low dose = Decreased Growth rate and Live Enlargment

- Loss of Appetite, Vomiting
- Jaundice (Yellor colouring)
- Bruising, Bleeding
- Diarrhoea
