W:
Index-ring finger=extended, and the fingers are far apart from each other.
Thumb and pinky=curled and touching at the fingertips.
Notes: It pretty much makes a W formation.
Wait:
Dominant hand and non-dominant hand:
Thumb-pinky=extended and separated.
Orientation: Have both hands palms up. Have the non-dominant hand farther in front of the dominant hand. Then wiggle the index-pinky on both hands.
Notes: If you wanted to show that you had to wait for a long time, then move both hands together in a circle as well.
Waiter/waitress:
Version 1: “Serve” + “person”. Version 2: Dominant hand: B handshape. Non-dominant hand: nothing. Orientation: Have the palm of the hands up with the fingers pointing behind you. Have the hand above your shoulder. Spin it in circles. Notes: Like the waiter/waitress is holding up a plate of food. Version 3: Dominant hand: Index and pinky=extended. Thumb, middle, and ring=curled. Non-dominant hand: nothing. Orientation: Have the hand turned to the side with the fingers pointing upwards. Have the hand above your shoulder. Spin it in circles.
Wake up:

Orientation: Have the index and thumb near your eyes (which may be closed). Then, open your eyes and extend the index and thumb away from each other.

Version 1: Dominant hand and non-dominant hand: B handshape. Orientation: Have the hands in front of you with the backs up. Then shuffle the hands forward and back as if they were feet that were walking. Version 2: Dominant hand: V handshape. Non-dominant hand: nothing. Orientation: Move the index and middle finger back and forth as if it were a person’s legs moving.

Orientation: Have the back of the hands facing you. Have the hands touch at the side of the index finger. Then move both hands to the side and away from each other.

Orientation: Have the back of the dominant hand up and the palm of the non-dominant hand up. Place the dominant hand on top of the non-dominant hand so that the fingers line up. Version 2: Dominant hand: K handshape. Non-dominant hand: nothing. Orientation: The palm faces you. Then shake the hand back and forth between you and the other person twice.
Weak:
Dominant hand: V handshape. Non-dominant hand: B handshape. Orientation: Have the palm of the non-dominant hand up. Place the fingers of the dominant hand on the non-dominant hand’s palm. Then slightly curl the fingers of the dominant hand like they are too weak to stay extended. Do that motion 2-3 times.

Notes: Formally, “Wednesday” is signed with the back facing you. Do not do a full rotation like you would for the sign 16. To say “every Wednesday”, move the hand from around the top of your chest (heightwise, not actually touching the chest) to the bottom.

Notes: If you want to specify a certain number of weeks, you can do that number sign on the dominant hand and then do the rest of the sign as usual. For ten and above, do the number sign first and then do the rest of the sign as usual. To say “every week”, repeat the sign 2-3 times.

Version 2: Dominant hand: Relaxed. Non-dominant hand: nothing. Orientation: Have the back up with the fingers pointing to the side. Move the hand outwards, turn the hand, so the palm faces you. Then move the hand downward. Finally, turn the hand so that the palm is up. Notes: Used for ‘you’re welcome’.
