Who has priority when you are turning onto a side road and a pedestrian is crossing?
They have priority, you should stop
How do pelican crossings work?
Has a traffic light system, you should give priority to pedestrians when the light is flashing amber and if it turns green when people are still crossing, wait until they have crossed
How do puffin crossings work?
They have sensors to detect if someone is on the crossing. There is no flashing amber
How do toucan crossings work?
Same as puffin, only cyclists can cross as well
How do you know if someone has hearing difficulties?
They may be seen with a dog in a yellow or burgundy coat
How do you know if someone is visually impaired?
They will be carrying a white stick with a red band or a dog with a checkered white and red band if they are both blind and deaf
What do you need to be aware of when there’s a motorcyclist around?
They could cut in front of you or swerve between lanes. They could also pass very close to you
What do you do if there’s a slow-moving motorcyclist ahead?
Stay back and slow down in case they change direction suddenly
What do you do if you see a motorcyclist who’s had an accident?
Seek medical assistance, do not touch the motorcyclist or remove their helmet.
How can you tell if someone is going to cross the road between parked cars?
You can’t but look for signs like a ball in the road or a bicycle wheel poking out
What is a flashing amber beacon used for?
It’s used for slow-moving vehicles like tractors or a powered vehicle for a disabled person
What do I do if I have been in an accident?
You must stop by law if there is damage or injury caused to another person, vehicle or property
What do you do if you’re being dazzled?
Set your interior mirror to anti-dazzle or slow down and stop if you can’t see
