What documents do you need before you drive?

You don’t have to pay the vehicle tax. You can pay the statutory off road notification which lasts until you scrap your vehicle

You must have at least a third party insurance cover and it covers:
- injury to person
- damage to someone’s property
- damage to other vehicles

- You can get an unlimited fine
- You get disqualification

- Complete the pass plus scheme

It means if you get 6 or more penalty points, you could lose your licence and you will have to retake the theory and practical
