Deficiency:

A

Source: Can be consumed in the diet or produced in the skin with the help of UV light activated by the kidneys.
Functions:
Regulation of calcium in the blood
Regulation of mineralization of bone
Increases production of calcium-binding proteins.
Deficiency: Signs of Hypocalcemia-like Osteomalacia in adults and Rickets in growing children. In both cases, bone formation and remodelling is damaged, and bones are soft and fragile.

Scurvy - loss of teeth, gingival bleeding, internal bleeding, as a result of weakening of ligaments.
