Chapter 187: Viscoelastic Monitoring
2
Q
What do viscoelastic tests monitor?
A
the rheological and viscoelastic properties of whole blood under low shear conditions.
the kinetics of clot formation (the time needed for the clot to form), the mechanical properties of the clot (tensile strength), and the time to dissolution of the clot (fibrinolysis).

Q
Do definition exist that allow the definition of hypo-, hyper coag in animals ?
