A pink maintenance key is required to turn from ISOLATE to OPERATE
How is the VICERS system powered
110 v DC
If VICERS stops train how do you reset it?
Reduce BP pressure to below 25 kPa by putting MCH to emerg
Speed at zero
Wait 10 seconds
Press acknowledgement button
What happens if the VICERS test fails?
The fault indicator will remain illuminated
If the fault indicator does not illuminate during train prep isolate the system and report
What status does the train need to be in to test VICERS?
BP fully charged
Reverser to OFF
Trip lowered and set
BVICS open
Where does the air come from that moves the Trip?
Control reservoir
What cocks is the trip connected to?
Red EC
Yellow TECHAV
What is the process to lower the trip?
“Cutting In”
Open BVICS
Trip Latching Lever to DOWN
BCH to EMERGENCY (exhaust air)
BCH to RUN and RELEASE (BP charges)
BCH to Step 7 EP brake
What is the process for raising the Trip?
“Cutting out”
Trip Latching Lever to UP (discharge air)
