How do they operate?

A

In the cabin van area.

Gauge above the buttons indicates on/off

Manual release and apply only for the motor car they are in.

They are pneumatic and will operate provided there is sufficient air in Main Res.

To apply - Press the RED Park Brake On button for 5 seconds

To release - Press the GREEN Park Brake On button for 5 seconds

One Pantograph raised, and one Motor Alternator needs to be running.

After MA operable for 60 seconds the Train-lined buttons will become energised.

When would you have to isolate a SPB?

A

When there is a rupture between SPB buttons and isolating cocks, SPB’s on both bogies would need to be manually released

When there is a rupture between SPB isolating cock and a SPB operating cylinder, only the SPB on the affected bogie would need to be manually released
