How do you raise the first Pantograph?
Min 500 kPa Main res. on Duplex gauge
Press Local Pantograph Raise EP valve
Observe local Pantograph has risen
Press local MA start EP valve to initiate MA
Release saloon doors on both sides to minimise Main res. pressure usage
How do you raise the remaining pantographs and start the rest of the MA’s
Press the train-lined Pantograph Raise button on driver’s console
Press the train-lined Aux. start button on driver’s area right hand wall
Observe Pantogtaphs have risen along train and any fault lights have extinguished
What do you have to do when stabling a train with regard to the Pantograph Storage Reservoir?
Check that it is full before you shut the train down.
Old style with black tap - open, wait for it to fill, close tap
Newer style with blue lever - one way valve so you won’t have to do anything
How do you raise the first pantograph using the Pantograph Storage Reservoir?
Observe pressure on gauge in cabinet is more than 500kPa
Turn the wheel valve anti-clockwise to open air flow to the Pantograph and MA systems
Press local Pantograph raise EP valve
Observe pantograph has risen
Press local MA start EP valve to initiate MA
Release saloon doors
How do you raise the Pantograph using the Emergency battery operated compressor?
Ensure the CB in the Van area cabinet is set
Turn the two-way cock to the number 2 position (horizontal)
Push the white start button
Press the local Panto raise EP valve
Press local MA start EP valve to initiate MA
