What are the train faults that can lead to the FDCL button flashing? (8)
Door system faults
Control CB tripped in rear cab
Rear motor tail lights off
PLC CB tripping in any trailing car
Uncoupled train sensing it is still coupled
Aux. CB tripped in another cab
Open circuit in Train Cable
A second BVICS open
if FDCL button is flashing what can you not do?
You can’t get any traction power
Train must be taken out of revenue service
Door System faults
Not much we can do
bypass door loop system
Control CB tripped in rear cab
Go and reset CB or bypass door loop system
Rear motor tail lights turned off
Go and turn marker lights to AUTO in rear cab
Turn marker lights to centre cab in centre cabs
PLC CB tripping
Go and reset PLC CB or bypass door loop system
Uncoupled train sensing it is still coupled
Reattach and divide again or bypass door loop system
Aux. CB tripped in another cab
Locate the CB and reset it or bypass door loop system
Second BVICS open
Close the second BVICS or bypass door loop system
Open circuit in Train Cable
Door loop system must be bypassed
What has to happen if the fault can’t be fixed and the Door Loop System has to be bypassed?
Detrain passengers
Train out of service
Where is the PLC located?
Electrical equipment compartment in the ceiling above No.3 door on all motors and trailers
What items are connected to the PLC? (6)
Driver’s Door Indicator Lights
Door Closing Delay Relay - 2 seconds
Door Chimes - 4 secs when closed button pressed.
Secondary Release Feature - If not proved closed after 15 secs chimes will sound for 60 secs
Foot Pilot Valve
Door Loop Bypass
