Vessels of the heart Flashcards
What is the heart enclosed in?
Pericardial sac
What are the 2 layers of the pericardial sac?
Fibrous layer
Serous pericardial layer
How many layers of Serous pericardial layer?
Parietal- lines pericardium
Visceral- lines the heart
What does the Fibrous pericardium layer surround?
surrounds both layers
What does Serous layer provide?
lubrication by mesothelial cells so heart can move
What is the Crista Terminalis ?
a ridge that separates Rough and smooth muscle (Sinus Venarum) in Right atrium
What does the RIGHT coronary artery branch into?
Right marginal artery down apex of heart
Right circumflex artery- posteriorly round back of heart
What does the right circumflex artery branch into?
Posterior interventricular artery
What does the LEFT coronary artery branch into?
Circumflex artery- posterior of heart
Anterior interventricular artery- down interven. groove to apex
What is the 1st branch at Aorta aorta?
Brachiocephalic trunk
What is the 2nd branch at Aorta Arch
Left Common Carotid Artery
What is the 3rd branch at Aorta Arch?
Left Subclavian Artery
What does the Brachiocephalic trunk split into?
Right Subclavian artery - blood to right upper limb
Right common carotid artery- blood to head
What does the Right/Left Subclavian veins drain blood from Upper limbs into?
right/Left Brachiocephalic veins
What does the Right/Left Internal and External Jugular veins drain blood from head into?
right/Left Brachiocephalic veins
