Loss of consciousness due to a transient drop in blood flow to the brain caused by excessive vagal discharge.

precipitated by emotions, orthostatic stress.

very common, affects 40% of people.

Vasovagal syncope symptoms?
A
loss of consciousness lasting a short time, patients may experience vagal symptoms (dizziness, sweating, light headedness) before passing out.

A
ECG to check for arryhtmia, echocardiogram to check for outflow obstruction, lying/standing BP to check for orthostatic hypotension, fasting blood glucose to check for DM.
