Variables!β¨ Flashcards
What is a variable?
Variables are factors or characteristics that can be changed or measured in an investigation.
What are the variables in a solubility investigation?
Temperature(independent), No. of spatulas of solute(dependent), the volume of the solvent(control), type of solvent(control), and the mass of solute in each spatula(control)
What is an independent variable?
The independent variable is the variable you change in an investigation.
What is a dependent variable?
The dependent variable is the variable you measure, that changes in an investigation as a result of changing the independent variable.
What is a control variable?
A control variable is a variable that stays the same in an investigation to keep the test fair.
