any factor that will increase the pH of the vagina, such as:
- Antibiotic use (Lactobacillus normally keeps the vaginal pH below 4.5)
- Diabetes
- Overgrowth of normal flora

Saline wet mount shows CLUE CELLS= epithelial cells covered with bacteria

metronidazol or clindamycin

Miconazole or clotrimazole, fluconazole or nystatin.
