diagnosis
A
- urinalysis (do in all children who are non-specifically unwell or that have UTI symptoms
- assessment of renal tract using ultrasound

ultrasound indications
A
- all children under 3months
- during infection if atypical
- up to 6 weeks after otherwise
- all children > 6 months who suffer recurrent infections

lower UTI management
A
- under 3 months: IV amoxicillin and gentamicin
- > 3 months: trimethoprim or nitrofurantoin (3 days)

A
IV amoxicillin and gentamicin
