  • urinalysis (do in all children who are non-specifically unwell or that have UTI symptoms
  • assessment of renal tract using ultrasound

ultrasound indications

A
  • all children under 3months
  • during infection if atypical
  • up to 6 weeks after otherwise
  • all children > 6 months who suffer recurrent infections

  • > 3 months: trimethoprim or nitrofurantoin (3 days)
