Kills broad leaved plants like weeds but not narrow leaved plants
What is rooting powder?
A powder which contains auxixns that farmers use to help cuttings grow well into fully developed plants.
How do farmers use rooting powder?
They take cuttings of plants to grow into new plants. They dip the stalk end of the of the cutting into rooting powder. This contains auxins that cause the stalk to produce roots quickly. This helps the cuttings grow well into fully developed plants.
Why do farmers use the seedless fruit hormone?
It stops seeds from developing in the fruit and can make the fruit grow larger which can be sold at a higher price making them more money.
How do farmers use the seedless fruit hormone?
Spray it onto flowers before the fruits are developed.
The graph shows that tomato fruits get softer after they are picked, but that those sprayed with hormone stay firmer for longer than those that are not sprayed. Spraying tomatoes will keep the firmer for longer during transport, so that they will be ripe at the right moment for selling. Also, stops fruit from getting squashed during transport
