Psychology has many practical applications. The issue is how should we best use our psychological knowledge in society. Are there ways we can treat mental illness, prevent criminal behaviour or help in the rehabilitation of criminals.

For psychological research in Psychology to be useful in society, people must have faith in the researches and practices of it. Leads back to ethics, if psychology is not trusted then people will not benefit from what it has to offer
