A
Process whereby an increasing % of a country’s population live in cities

What affects the rate of urbanisation
A
Rural -> urban migrations : more jobs, Heath care, better homes, education, transport
Natural increase: Birth minus deaths, birth rates + fertility rates will be lower in cities than rural areas but raw numbers of people living there will be high so numbers of children born is high

What is a mega city
A
A city with a population of over 10 million
- > higher life expectancy, education
- > wealth, extreme inequalities, crime, high density, pollution
There are 3 types : slow growing, growing, rapid growing
