  • drip tips: water runs off easily and prevents algae from growing and blocking sun light.
  • leaves at different angles
  • red leaves on young saplings prevent sun harm as it reflect light.
  • butress roots: extra stability, shallow to absorb nutrients.
  • thin smooth bark:prevent stuff growing on them
  • some plants live on trees e.g orchids (epiphytes)
