Unfamiliar Fieldwork Flashcards
Tally chart
Displays easily relative proportions of multiple classes of data
Bar chart
Useful when looking for relationships or correlation between two different sets of data
Pie chart
Useful when comparing opinions on a range of areas
Scatter graph
Quick to complete
Radar graph
Smaller changes exist, these graphs are better to use than bar graphs
Choropleth map
Simple to create, very easy to interpret
Line
Useful when data has locational value
Sampling
Random: avoids bias, locations can be too close to show differences
Stratified: insures fair representation of all groups, may not always be possible to collect on the group eg work
Systematic: covers a large area so can identify change, larger areas like towns may have large areas not represented
