Upper Limb Flashcards
Insertion of biceps brachii
Tuberoisty of radius and fascia of forearm via bicipital aponeurosis
Bicep brachii origin
Short head: tip of coracoid process of scapula
Long head: supraglenoid tubercle of scapula
Whats the innervation of the biceps brachii?
Musculocutaneous nerve (c5,c6)
Whats the action of the bicep brachii?
Supinates the forearm and when it is supinated, flexes the elbow joint; flexes the shoulder joint; short head resists dislocation of shoulder
Whats is the origin of the brachialis?
Distal half of anterior surface of humerus
Whats the insertion for the brachialis?
Coronoid process and tuberoisty of ulna
Whats the innervation for the brachialis
Musculatenous nerve (c5, c6)
Whats the action for the brachialis?
Flexes the elbow joint in all positions
Whats the origin of the coracobrachiallis?
Tip of coracoid process of the scapula
Whats the insertion for the coracobrachialis?
Medial third of media surface of the humerus
Whats the innervation for the coracobrachialis?
Musculocuntaeous nerve (c5,c6,c7)
Whats the actions for the coracobrachialis?
It helps flex and adduct the shoulder joint; resists dislocation of shoulder
Whats the origin of the tricep brachii?
Long head: infraglenoid tubercle of the scapula
Lateral head: posterior surface of humeru, superior to radial grove
Media head: posterior surface of humerus, inferior to radial grove
Whats the insertion of the tricep brachii
The proximal end of the olecranon of ulna and fascia of forearm
Whats the innervation of the tricep brachii?
Radial nerve (c6,c7,c8)
