shoulder Flashcards
WHAT is the insertion for the supraspinatous?
the superior facet of the greater tubercle of the humerous
what is the origin of the supraspinatous?
supraspinous fossa of the scapula
what innervates the supraspinatous?
the suprascapular nerve (c4,c5,c6)
what are the main actions of the supraspinatous?
initiates and assists deltoid in abduction of shoulder joint and acts with other rotator cuff muscles
what is the origin of the infraspinatous?
the infraspinous fossa of the scapula
what is the insertion of the infraspinatous?
the middle facet of the greater tubercle of humerus
what innervates the infraspantous?
the suprascapular nerves (c5,c6)
what is the action of the infraspinatous?
laterally rotates shoulder joint; helps hold head of the humerus in glenoid cavity of scapula
what is the origin of the tere minor?
the middle part of lateral border of scapula
what is the insertion of the teres minor?
the inferior facet of the greater tubercle of humerus
what is the action of the teres minor?
laterally rotates the shoulder joint; helps hold humeral head in glenoid cavity
what innervates the teres minor?
the axillary nerve (c5, c6)
what is the origin of the teres major?
the inferior part of the lateral border of the scapula and posterior surface of inferior angle of scapula
what is the insertion of the teres major?
the medial lip of the intertubercular sulcus of the humerus
what is the innervation of the teres major?
lower subscapular nerve (c5, c6)
