realized everything he knew was based from his senses, but his senses are untrustworthy
only thing he knew for certain was that he was thinking

Cogitio Ergo Sum- said Descartes, meaning i think therefore i am
Tabula Rusa- John Locke- Blank slate
(meaning when we are born blank slate, as we experience the world we gain and keep information)
why would a skeptic say we cannot trust our senses and ability to be rationalist
