Diverticulosis
Small pouches in the lining of the colon that bulge outward thru weak spots.
Diverticulitis
When the small pouch in the lining of the colon become inflamed and infected.
GERD
Is a disorder caused by transient relaxation of the lower esophageal sphincter.
Hiatal Hernia
Is loss of muscle strength and tone. Increased intra-abdominal pressure or congenital defects contribute to the formation of hiatal Hernia.
Dysarthria
Difficult, poorly articulated speech resulting from interference in the control and execution over the muscle of speech
Edentulous
Absence of teeth
Dysphasia
Loss of language
Barrett’s Esophagus
Condition in which the lining of the esophagus changes, becoming more like the lining off the small intestine rather than the esophagus.
Barium Swollow
Barium Sulfate is a metallic compound that shows up on X-ray. This testa is used to determine the cause of painful swallowing, difficulty with swallowing, and pain, or bloodstained vomit, or unexpected weight loss.
Upper GI Endoscopy
Procedure win which a gastroenterologist uses an endoscope to see the lining of your upper GI Tract.
Hernia
An abnormal exit of tissue or an organ, such as the bowel, through the wall of the cavity in which it normally resides.
