blood types
Erythrocytes each present a certain group of antigens which are recognized by certain antibodies
Different types and classes of antigens:
* ABO blood group
* Rh blood group
They blood type you are is the antigen that is found on the surface
Type A: they have antigen A, plasma contains B antibodies
Type B: Antigen B, plasma blood contains A antibodies
Type AB: Antigen A and B, plasma contains no antibodies
Type O: none, Antibodes A and B
what type of blood can donate to everyone and which type can accept blood from all?
O is the universal donor
AB+ is the universal recipient
Rh blood groups
Those with a D antigen are referred as Rh+ or +
Those without the antigen are referred to as Rh- or –
In general, people do not produce Rh antibodies, whether they are Rh+ or Rh-, except where issues can occur with those who are Rh- negative
